Burp Off

The box, the cone, the port and the impedance come from the BassDesign engine with the sub's real Thiele/Small data. The game adds the car (a gain shelf plus the body's resonant peak, which sits higher in smaller cars), an amp that gives a voltage (so the watts follow the impedance) and a coil that heats up.

• Coil heats while you hold. A hot coil has more resistance, so the dB sag (power compression). At 260 °C it burns.
• Cone past Xmax compresses, past 1.3 × Xmax it slaps, at 1.8 × Xmax it tears.
• Port air over 17 m/s compresses and eats dB, the faster the more.

Hold the button and the gain climbs to the amp's full power. The score is the dB when you let go, so let go at the peak. Find the car's peak, then build the box that hits it hardest within the budget.
